The Crown and Thistle has a selection of local golf courses to choose from to suit all handicaps and styles from undulating parkland settings to a round with views of the Dreaming Spires of Oxford. After a day on the fairways, a warm welcome awaits.

 
 

Drayton Park Golf Club

Opened in 1993, this 18 hole parkland course designed by Martin Hawtree is a flat walking course with undulating greens. Ginge Brook runs through the heart of the course, with 4 lakes situated alongside fairways and 55 bunkers protecting greens and landing areas, making it a challenging course for players. A 3 mile drive from The Crown and Thistle.

 
 

Hadden Hill Golf Club

Opened in 1990 and designed by Michael Morley, this 18 hole undulating parkland course offers lovely views over the North Wessex Downs. There is also a 6 hole par 3 course and a 9 hole Footgolf course. A 7 mile drive from the Crown and Thistle.

 
 

Hinksey Heights Golf Club

The main course at Hinksey Heights opened in 1996.  The 18 hole course is suitable for all golfing abilities and offers unique and spectacular views of the Dreaming Spires of Oxford. There are learning and practice facilities including an on-site driving range, putting and chipping green. There is also a Footgolf course for a more light-hearted activity. A 6 mile drive from The Blue Boar.

 
 

HunterCombe Golf Club

Founded in 1901 and designed by Willie Park Jnr, Huntercombe is a prestigious inland course that is currently ranked 55th in England with Golf World. It is a traditional Members’ Club where guests are welcomed. Gorse, only 13 sand bunkers and over 100 grass pots are strategically placed to challenge even the finest golfers. Ian Fleming, the famous author, used regularly to play a full round in 2 hours and speed of play is considered important at this course. A 15 mile drive from the Crown and Thistle.
